    Leaving Canada after citizenship ceremony

Hi! I've just been given a date for my citizenship ceremony, but I'm going to be overseas for work for the next couple of months. I'll fly to Vancouver for my citizenship ceremony/oath, but I understand there may be an issue with leaving the country afterwards on my non-Canadian passport? Do I...

How long does the citizenship test take?

Sorry, this has probably been asked before, but can't find any answers in the search. I've got my test in Vancouver scheduled at 8.17am. I'm going to get there for 8am, is that early enough? And also how long does the test and going through documents take? Do you think I be done by 11am? Thanks!

    Vancouver applicants

Has anyone who has submitted their application from Vancouver this year (2018) been invited to their test yet? Or even had their application moved to the 'in process' stage? From the spreadsheet, it seems not? I have a friend, also in Van, who submitted in October 2017 who still hasn't received...

    Citizenship test request

Hello! Has anyone had any success requesting dates/locations for their citizenship test? I'm thinking of including a letter with my application asking (politely) for CIC to schedule my test to be in Toronto rather than Vancouver - I've lived in Vancouver for five years, but I'm going to be...

Help in Form CIT 0177 (Residence Outside Canada)

I'm in the same situation and I agree with the above. I'm going to fill out what I can on the form and submit it with my application and attach a note explaining that it doesn't apply to me, but I've filled it out anyway to be compliant. I wonder if this form is more for people who want to be...

    January 2018 - Citizenship Applications

Quick q... Did you guys only find out about your test date from a letter being sent in the mail? Did you not receive an email or update in your CiC account with a test date? I'm about to apply from overseas where I'm currently based for work and I don't have an address in Canada at the moment...

Have you tried the Globe and Mail's New Citizenship Calculator?

Also, regarding absences, is it just me or is this really unclear (from CiC site): Q4: When I try to calculate my absences, I get different numbers than the physical presence calculator. How does the physical presence calculator determine the number of days for each absence? A3: The calculator...

Have you tried the Globe and Mail's New Citizenship Calculator?

Firstly, I think it's pretty misleading that this has been published by a national newspaper considering Bill C6 hasn't even gone through yet... but anyway... has anyone else seen this? I'm pretty sure it's wrong? It's given me different dates every time. Has anyone else tried it...

Bill C-6, Messages between the HoC and the Senate, FACTS ONLY

Spyfy! You are the best! Are they also scrapping the current 183 days out of each 'resident' year requirement? I believe that was the original plan, but I haven't heard that mentioned.

How long can I leave Canada for?

Hi everyone, I'm looking at leaving Canada for work in July. I will have had PR for 650 days, just short of the 730 day requirement within 5 years. When will I have to return by to stay a resident? Is early 2020 correct? Also does the 183 day per year minimum apply to PR too? Thanks!
