159 days since landing, the lovely CIC lady said that my sons PR card went to production yesterday! Fingers crossed this time it means we will actually receive it soon!!! ??? ???

We landed on 10 September, after a few phone calls to the CIC and being told the cards were being printed, we got a letter in the first week of December requesting we resubmit photos as the specifications changed! Needless to say we are still waiting, so I know your frustration.

I would recommend taking the necessary documentation with you to apply for the returning travel document. We were also waiting for my son's PR card to arrive and travelled back home mid November. We were waiting 86+ days (and 5 phone calls to the CIC, during which we were told our cards were...

Hello, we didn't do either. We got our family and friends in Canada to email letters and printed them out and included them in our package.

Ours took about 2 months! Much much quicker than we were expecting ;D We didn't send a police check, only the authority for the CIC to request one from NZ Police.

Congrats Ccastillo!!! I am also the sponsor and I have not done any medicals, we only provided photos and passport copies for my husband and son who were applying for PR and it all came back just fine :D

Has anyone sent household items before them? We are thinking of sending a couple of boxes before we fly to Canada, however our stuff will probably make it before we do. How do we get this treated as the items that are accompanying us so they are duty free?

Agrr. We are looking at AKL-LAX-Pearsons and the transit is 2.5 hours. We were expecting to have to collect our bags and go through US customs but I'm surprised you have to go international to domestic! I thought we would have stayed in the international - one of the reasons we are not planning...

Fantastic news! Great to year landing at Pearsons is easy. Which US city did you go through? We are thinking LAX because of the time it lands at Pearsons is early evening.

Thanks chilkootcee. No you won't be able to sort the info, but I guess the problem is that there are so many variables in each application, at what point do we analyse too much!

We live in NZ and ours didn't take 'too much longer' than others who submitted around the same date (even though it felt like an eternity!)

thanks andrew-brit. Our medicals were done in January so we should be okay there. My husbands passport expires April next year so I guess we have until October.
