What documentation to keep after citizenship

Finally after a long time waiting I became citizen. All this time I kept a copy of my residency application and citizenship application, RQ and everything else. Not that it is that much but I was just wondering if I can maybe just only keep my Landing doc and official docs but can get rid of the...

Oath day and missing an original for name change

Hi everyone, If this post sounds ditsy to some, I apologize. Have read all the material for the oath but missing a document. In regards to the oath, the letter describes some obvious stuff like the invitation letter, all passports etc but it also requires all the originals of the documents I...

Could CIC have lost my cit app? Been waiting 15 month for judge appointment

Update on this. Applied for ATIP 4 weeks ago: no response (yet). Wrote to the MPP twice: not even a courtesy or automated reply. Are government officials at this point not getting involved in CIC cases maybe? Anyone have similar experiences?

Could CIC have lost my cit app? Been waiting 15 month for judge appointment

Three weeks ago I wrote my MPP , no response. Last week I send a reminder, nothing. Are immigration issues something they do not respond to maybe. I am so very frustrated. We're abroad for my husbands work and calling is not an option. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

Could CIC have lost my cit app? Been waiting 15 month for judge appointment

Thank you Janoo, appreciate it. I did a search and initially emailed the wrong MPP (of Ontario immigration) They referred me to the right one but also to the Minister of Immigration, Chris Alexander. Not that I am planning on sending the latter a letter right of the bat because I am wondering if...

Could CIC have lost my cit app? Been waiting 15 month for judge appointment

What a good idea. I didnt even know it was possible. You mean the Access Information & Privacy right? I will do so at once. Lately i have been considering to write to the MPP on immigration in Toronto and ask him for assistance. Its very stressful.

Could CIC have lost my cit app? Been waiting 15 month for judge appointment

There had been mixup of dates which made CIC refer me to a judge hearing. I have been waiting for 15 months for this. No news. Wrote them two letters every time i had to leave the country. No reply. The website to track your file keeps giving error messages. Currently abroad with husband for...

Have to see a judge: 11 days short

Interesting indeed, when i was reading up on it this week about the days abroad with my husband counts for physical presence on the CIC site. Does this also apply to the citizenship application? I am seriously considering put in a new application when I return to Canada. If it doesn't count as...

Have to see a judge: 11 days short

Last question on this topic. In March I am returning to Canada. We picked a date to book return tickets but my husband now has to finish up a project which is taking a little longer. My husband thinks I can return on my own in March to arrange our apartment and such. I also informed Cic of this...

Have to see a judge: 11 days short

Thank you Bambino for your contribution. Glad to hear that there is a good chance the Judge will see the mistake, although I wouldn't put anything passed them really. Before I had my test I was send the RQ. It asked for the same information as the application and of copies from passports and...

Have to see a judge: 11 days short

Have to see a judge: 11 days short

Thanks again everyone. Last question on this for me. When i calculate my residence i have enough days now counting back four years. The system sets me to apply in 2018 though since a RP does not allow you to be out of the country longer than 6 months. However I am with my husband and therefore...

Have to see a judge: 11 days short

Well obviously I have all this since I have been living in Canada since that time and left far later after that. There are also the dates in my passport which show if and when I have travelled in the whole time after. It is good you mentioned this though.

Have to see a judge: 11 days short

Okay, let me see. I have read all of these and the links and trying to distract a strategy from this. Some of these I would not have even found myself btw. Since I can't apply in retrospect, maybe i can send a letter explaining the mix-up with the dates and the full time I have stayed in Canada...

Have to see a judge: 11 days short

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your advise and your patience with this. Just a few things, I had a buffer, this is why I'm not short longer. After my application I stayed in Canada for another 9 months before my husband and I moved abroad. It was not our initial plan and not much of a choice...

Have to see a judge: 11 days short

Hi everyone. Happy New Year! In 2009 I moved to Canada from Europe on a tourist status first to live with my now husband. He sponsored me 3 months later. To extend my visitors visa we took a trip to see friends in the US. Called CIC before and they told us, it was totally legit. I received PR...
