I landed at midnight in Calgary, i was the only one in immigration, was pretty great actually. The landing took me 10 minutes, i heard some airports have service Canada kiosks inside where you are able to get a sin, the airport in Calgary did not so I went to a service Canada in Calgary and got...

Not necessarily, I applied common-law been with my partner over 4 years and looking at the notes most of the 9 and half months it took to get approved, 90% of the time it was sitting in FCP inventory aka in a pile of a dust. When it came to actually processing the application including...

Immigrants (even native Canadians) struggle to find work in Canada

The job market in Alberta is insane, landed a month ago. Cannot seem to land any interviews in Calgary for even a part time job let alone a full time job. I secured employment very quick in the states as an analyst but here jobs that i wouldn't think to apply in the U.S i am being denied. Kinda...

Will I lose common law status if I leave Canada while our application is sorted?

As the others have stated, who ever told you that is telling you false information. To give you some context, I entered into common-law with my partner from Dec 2012- Dec 2013 while i was in Canada on a swap visa. My partner submitted an P.R app in Jan 2015 which has been approved in November of...

Have you ordered GCMS notes to see where your file is, its really case by case scenario. I have seen some straightforward us applicants get approved in 3 months to over a year, it seems that they sometimes process files out of order as well. In my case it took over 9 months to see DM. Think...

Did you send documents based on where you are, or where you're from?

What country passport does she hold? Most likely CIC will send that application to the country where she is a citizen. For example, I have seen many cases where someone has resided in the U.S having their file not processed in Ottawa(where u.s applicants are processed) but their applications are...

Did you send documents based on where you are, or where you're from?

Depends on which passport she currently holds determines which VO it is being sent to, you have no choice. CIC sometimes they will send it to the country of residence but most often it is the VO where the applicant is a citizen of.

I believe Germans are visa exempt meaning you do not need a visa to enter Canada. I am speaking from my experiences and I am from the U.S which is also visa exempt from entering Canada and I have flew over 10-15 times to Canada without a return ticket in the past 4 years and not once has the...
