I work in IT, working remotely was part of the deal. I would come into the office a few times a week when I was in town, but that wasn't a requirement. I went travelling on my own but kept working remotely. So, the company didn't send me and I was employed during my travels.

Ok just in case anybody interested. You can get a refund on an application. Talked to CIC Call Center rep. She left a note on my visitor application that I would like to withdraw it and explained why. The rest is up to the person processing the application. I might get a refund in 4-8 weeks.
