    May 2019 Citizenship Application

@bmm651 There's a thin line between asking for help and being lazy. We're all immigrants. Most of us are not good at English to begin with. Like myself, when I applied for citizenship I spent hours and hours reading the book, did as many practice tests online as possible, researching the...

    May 2019 Citizenship Application

You don't need help from us. Topics are all in the book. Help yourself. If you wanna know what kind of questions they put on the test, do a search online for practice test. Don't ask me to give you a link.

    May 2019 Citizenship Application

Lucky you. My mom applied the same time as yours, application in process since Sept 2019, but haven't even received invitation to interview. She's a senior so no test is needed. I hope they squeeze her in some time the coming months for an online interview.

    May 2019 Citizenship Application

Thanks for your suggestion! It's such a good idea. I'm gonna get her practicing the oath beforehand. I doubt that she can memorize it all, but at least it can help her familiar with the sound of it so she'll be less nervous when the time comes.

    May 2019 Citizenship Application

We're still waiting for test invite for my mom. We applied in May 2019. For virtual oath, I always thought it's a group oath...hm...interesting to know it's one person.. So now I wonder how that works for my mom, who doesn't speak English at all (75 years old). Sure I'll be there as interpreter...

    May 2019 Citizenship Application

This application is for my mom. We have the similar timeline as yours, and haven't heard anything from CIC either. I saw some people submitted in July and have already got test invitations. It's worrying. For all immigration petitions our family have done before, we're usually among the normal...

    May 2019 Citizenship Application

Quick question. Will test invite be sent via email or letter mail? Or it'll be just a ecas status change (like from "Application Received" to "In Process")? Thanks. (Just looked at the spreadsheet. It seems no test invite was sent since end of Sep. I hope it's gonna pick up after election)

    May 2019 Citizenship Application

741953 mom (Row 108) In Process on September 25 Thanks! How exciting!! Now we just hope the test date or oath date won't clash with our vacation in early November. I was told if that's the case we can ask CIC to move the date. I hope that's true and won't delay the whole process too much.

Thanks! Since it's for my mom's citizenship, I'm even more excited than I was submitting my own. All the efforts on getting my own status, then bringing her here via Family Class, now finally come to this. 19 years in the making. It's an incredible feeling :)

Actually we did thought about applying Ontario Photo ID. The first time I looked at the document list, I must have misinterpreted something. https://www.ontario.ca/page/acceptable-identity-documents I thought, oh, my mom doesn't have 2 document from List 2, so I skipped this thought. But just...

No news... as in after you have checked every online status available and made inquiries via email/phone? If so, unfortunately, you might have to keep waiting. Yeah, I agree, write to your MP and see what he/she can do. Doesn't hurt.
