    quitting PhD

Hi scylla, so I officially withdrew from my program on March 8th. I plan to leave Canada for a week from April 13 to April 20, and then to leave Canada for good on May 1st. I also found this as an exception of ETA: "you return before the expiry of the period initially authorized for your entry...

    visitor or what??

That's what I thought too, doing the ETA just in case :D Also, I was told at school that I am going to have to surrender my study permit, since I withdrew from my program: do you know where or to whom? At the airport?

    Spouse Open Work permit

Thanks! So, regarding health care, it has been renewed and paid for the two of us until April 30, so I believe that even if I were to drop out, say, in a couple of weeks that would still be valid until the end of April?

    Spouse Open Work permit

Thanks! Yes, the open work permit expires in 2019, so it would be amply within expiry limits. I was told on this forum that once you withdraw from school, then you have 90 days to leave Canada; if you wait more than 90 days, then you would need to change status from student to visitor. (?)
