    Yes, exactly this. You can get a Social Insurance Number the second you land but they do not give cards anymore. When you need it for work, you just give the employer the number.

    In general, I would give high-level and emotion-free answers. Stick to the facts and keep it simple. For the wedding, I would give the number of people that attendend and definitely point out what close family members were there, ie, your parents and siblings, your spouse's family, etc.

    You don't get to choose the visa office. Australians rarely get called for interviews. I would say it's probably closer to triple or worse for inland. We were done and dusted in exactly 6 months.

    A minor point, but when they say Act of Parliament, they're referring specifically to Canadian federal law. In other words, they don't want to know about your speeding ticket (provincial law) or that time you didn't cut the lawn so you got a fine (municipal law).
