To add something here. There is a government agency in Saskatchewan: www.isans.ca They help you get a job in Saskatchewan, as soon as you get the PR and intend to settle down there. Cool :) I am sure there will be other agencies for other provinces, who help the new comers.

Today I tried checking how many applications have been received for my category and the bookmark took me to the Express Entry page. Have CIC removed the page, where I could check it? Any idea?

Congratulations!! CIC has been very erratic in their working. I had sent my application on 28 August but am still waiting for the CC to be charged or PER. As per the cases processed, you may get your PER in 45-60 days but again that is not a fixed deadline. You may get it earlier as well :)...

You need to have a job offer from a Canadian company in order to apply for a work visa. In order to find out the salary etc, better go to the website www.ca.indeed.com and search for your job. You will get an idea.
