I think they randomly ask for pictures from applicants, if they have not requested any pictures from you then no need to worry yourself. The most important documents they normally ask are your int'l passport and a copy of the email (PPR) thats all.

Yes, 8 days. CPC-Ottawa received my passport on July 10, on July 17 my passport was delivered to my door step.

Mine took exactly 8 days to return.
