    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

Hey everyone, I'm new to this thread. I have sent my parents docs for sponsorship and they've received it on Sep. 21, 2018. But I haven't received AOR yet. Is this normal? How long usually takes them to send AOR? I took a look at the spreadsheet and I'm seeing some wild variations. There are...

    December 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

Yes, mine is 12 days after my application date. The 12 months timeline is the time it takes for 80 percent of applications to be processed. The other 20 percent will go over.

    December 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

Just got my oath ceremony letter for Dec. 18, 2018. in Edmonton. Thinking of calling to ask for a sooner date since I might be travelling on that date. Does anyone have a similar experience?

    December 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

Things are going slowly generally and specially for the Edmonton office these days. Haven't heard much in a while. Not sure, if they're are going to rush to make the 1-year timeline in time for Dec. or not.

You can always call IRCC to ask what the decision was.

    December 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

I'm really confused about how different IRCC offices queue up applicants after the Decision Made state. I can understand that different applications have different requirements, timelines, processing times, etc so they have varying processing times. But after reaching DM, every application...

    December 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

It took me almost 3 months after the test to get DM. They told me in the interview that they're waiting for my security clearance. When I asked how long it usually takes, they said they don't know since it's a different department.

    December 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

Not necessarily. What did the officer tell you? Did they tell you they are waiting on any requirement (clearances, CBSA, etc)?

If you have visa stamps on your passport with a non-latin script or non-latin date stamps, I'd get an official translation of my passport for those pages as well.

Hi everyone, does anyone know if conmon-law was an option for your marital status in the citizenship forms?

    December 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

If there's anything, it has to do with verifying their language requirements, since they could've sent their degree as the language requirement document, not directly with the fact that they've gone to grad school. Maybe it's easier for the officers to verify a degree. There's also the fact that...

    December 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

I wonder how many people are waiting for DM for more than a week or so after taking the test. Are they all waiting for background checks? My initial impression was that IRCC doesn't do an extensive background check for citizenship applications, but that has proven to be wrong. However not sure...

Is your citizen application delayed for security checks?

I'm in the same boat. Passed my test May 30, and was told that they're still waiting on security clearance. The officer didn't tell me how long it usually takes... Has anyone ordered their notes?

    December 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

I respect that! :) However that means "Decision Made" doesn't mean much either. They're effectively waiting for security clearance.

I was thinking of ATIP which is free I think. Is there any preference for one over the other?
