Hi! I'm going to be arriving to BC soon and I was just wondering what's the average monthly costs would be. I.e rent, phone bills, medical, car expenses, groceries etc. Just an estimate, would be good to know what to expect. I heard it's quite costly.

Should depend on the visa officer- they can either shorten your visa or don't ask any proof of insurance at all. Depends on how lucky you are!

Is there a difference between Travelance policies and SRMRM or it's the same 2 year coverage for both? Which company is better in terms of reimbursements? And in case you have to go back home- will those be cancelled or suspended?

How does this work if a person has to come back to home country for a while, like Christmas. Does it mean the coverage is cancelled or just temporarily suspended?

You can reach CIC if you call them early in the morning- I believe 7 or 8 am- that's the best time to get through to someone

so even if it's a small claim there will be no refund? I'm thinking like $50 check up or something. Or can it be reconsidered on a case by case basis?

Is there still a need for a repatriation coverage in this case? The guidelines are unclear- I wouldn't want to spend extra just to have this one option covered

I was told you'd be able to get a refund for any unused days on your policy... Were you able to? Cause then it doesn't matter you can just get it in case they'd check and then just apply for reimbursement. Well after a waiting period which is 3 months I believe. Does it work in all provinces tho?

Ooops I had the same question, nobody seemed to answer it here... Will they shorten my visa if they find out I have insufficient insurance coverage? Need expert advice.

Hi I thought when you arrive in Alberta the health coverage kicks in automatically, that's the beauty of this province... Though I might be mistaken can anyone confirm?
