    October 2014 Citizenship Applications

After exactly 9 months and 13 days, my dream of becoming a Canadian citizen has come true. It was a beautiful ceremony at Government House, the official residence of the Lt. Governor of Nova Scotia in Halifax. 27 new Canadians from 13 countries took the oath today, administered by the Lt...

Just different locations, that's all. Government House is the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor (and the Royal Family, when they visit Nova Scotia). Here is where you can see the dates and locations: http://www.cic.gc.ca/citcer/search-recherche-eng.aspx

Just took my test today in Halifax, scored 20/20. The questions are not difficult, but you would definitely need to read the Discover Canada Guide to know all the answers. The interview was smooth too. I was told it could be a few weeks before I get an oath invitation.

I have lived in Canada since 2009, initially on a work permit. According to the current rules, days lived in Canada prior to receiving permanent residence (ie on work permit, or as a student) count as 1/2 days towards the residency requirements of 1095 days for applying for citizenship.
