Anyone from Montreal got online test invite and/or oath ceremony

I was given the choice to pick it up at the office on St Jacques, It was 2 weeks after the date of the ceremony and it only took 5 minutes, just show 2 pieces of ID and that's it. If you opt for delivery it's 4-6 weeks to get it in the mail

They won't notify you when they have been recieved, but you can call IRCC and they should be able to tell you if they are in the file

Mine were mandatory enough for them not to send me for the oath for 2 years whenever they expired ;) As far as I know there are maybe 2-3 ceremonies every month

How long does it take to receive an AOR in average?

Typically AOR is received around 3 months after it was mailed. It's completely normal to hear nothing until then. You will receive your application number and unique client identifier (UCI) with the AOR and this will allow you to login to the tracker so sit tight, there's nothing to do but...

Your mileage may vary, for me it was 2 years after completing the test that I got the oath invitation, my application was completely routine too, no criminal history, no kids etc..

Oath Ceremony - E-mail to IRCC officer

I was asked to email the signed form back and add the name of the IRCC officer I spoke with in the subject line, I created a new email for this and just attached the form, picked up my certificate 2 weeks later so I think either option will work.

Can someone still apply for citizenship if they have expired permanent residency card?

100%. I just did my oath ceremony with an expired PR card, they asked why it was expired and I just explained I had no plans to travel until citizenship was done and they were fine with it

    Oath Ceremony Notification

You will receive an email invitation to the oath ceremony usually 1 week before the date of the ceremony, it will tell you if it is in-person or virtual. If it's virtual the invite will include everything you need (zoom link, password and seat number)

Request for FP, is this normal?

COPR isn't temporary, you will need it to apply for old age pension when you retire so be sure to keep it safe when you become a citizen

Request for FP, is this normal?

You don't need to worry, it's just the wording here that is scary but I got the exact same message when my background check expired and I had to submit fingerprints again but it's nothing to worry about :)
