Passport photos for PR app - lose or affixed to page?

Woo! Finally have everything all put together. Gonna make copies tomorrow and it will all be good to go. Quit a book of supporting documents. Now, I have four passport photos, as required. Do I just send those in as is? Or am I supposed to attach them to document(s)? I see there's a spot for...

Medical Report/PR App - "requested Visa Office"?

Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately, that's what I've already got in my hands. There's nothing about specific visa offices in it, only "interview locations." Is this what I'm looking for? Buffalo isn't on it. (I had marked down "Detroit" on this form.)

Medical Report/PR App - "requested Visa Office"?

Good to know. I had been wondering about that question, and looked online at the CIC's official immigration guide for filling out the forms (cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3999E4.asp) and that question was completely ignored. Could you point me to said instructions that list...

Medical Report/PR App - "requested Visa Office"?

Hey all! This site has been fantastic in helping us through our PR journey, and we're | | this close to being ready to file. I just had my medical done, and the doctor asked me what my visa office was. I had no idea, because I haven't filed yet. I had assumed Mississauga (since that's where...

Filling out PR forms - "Country of Residence"?

I'm also having a problem with form IMM5490E; the Sponsored Spouse/Partner Questionnaire. I'm filling this all out on my computer, but many of the blanks on this particular form won't fill out. We tried it on both my computer and my wife's computer, same problem on both. I can always just fill...

Filling out PR forms - "Country of Residence"?

I'm currently in Canada as a visitor, staying with my wife. Does that mean I put down Canada as my country of residence? Or should I put United States, since I'm only a visitor here? There's also places to fill in my residential address, should I put where I'm staying here in Canada or an...

Sponsorship PR application - Inland vs Outland paperwork?

Alright, sounds good. Already have my FBI record in hand, had requested it some months ago since I heard it took a while to get! :)

Sponsorship PR application - Inland vs Outland paperwork?

Alright, sounds like outland is the way to go for sure then. Another question; I'm planning on getting my medical done today. We haven't actually filed our PR/Sponsor app yet; is this a good idea? Or should I wait until we've filed and they request it to go get it done? I'd hate to have the...

Sponsorship PR application - Inland vs Outland paperwork?

So... with outland, if I have to leave the country and then come back and get denied entry for whatever reason, does the PR app get thrown out? Or affected at all?

Sponsorship PR application - Inland vs Outland paperwork?

I'm from the states. I don't foresee any reason to need to leave the country, and if it's "safer" to apply inland (safer meaning less chance we'd be separated) we'd rather do it that way - even if it does take a bit longer. Any idea how much of a time difference it is?

Sponsorship PR application - Inland vs Outland paperwork?

Alright, thanks. There seems to be a decent amount more paperwork for Outland application, is that correct? I assume it's because it's meant for the host and the applicant to be in different places? Also, if I file via Outland, am I able to leave/enter the country if needed? I don't have any...

Sponsorship PR application - Inland vs Outland paperwork?

Am I correct in assuming that the of paperwork you get from this page: cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-how.asp#step1 ...the first link (If your spouse, partner or accompanying dependent child lives with you in Canada, use the Application for Permanent Residence in Canada—Spouse...

Quick question about medical exam for PR

Heya, just waiting on my marriage certificate to file for PR. I haven't gotten a medical exam yet, but I have the Section A form. Now, when I get the exam done, do I get the form back and send it in WITH the PR application? Or does the doctor send it in himself? If the later, should I apply...

Applying for PR with my Canadian wife sponsoring me, "Implied Status"?

Hey there again! This forum has been fantastic for information thus far, and I thought I'd do a quick check here to make sure I'm doing everything properly. I am a US citizen and have been in Canada for a few months now as a visitor. I'm now married to my Canadian wife, and we're waiting for my...

Currently Visitor and filed for extension, "Implied status"?

Heya! I'm currently in Canada on a visitor's visa, staying with my Canadian wife. My visa expires next month, and I've just sent in the paperwork for an extension while we wait for our Marriage Certificate, at which point I'll be applying for PR with her sponsoring me as family class. To my...

Marrying Canadian citizen, currently visiting Toronto. Timeline?

Thanks for the post, Robs (and everyone else!!). Great info. One question; we need the actual Marriage Certificate for PR, right? We will be married before I have to leave, but I'm not sure we'll have the certificate. You have to wait 6-8 weeks AFTER you're married until you can apply for the...

Marrying Canadian citizen, currently visiting Toronto. Timeline?

Not a bad a idea. Just to be clear - the PR fees you're talking about are the two ~$500 sponsorship fees, correct?

Marrying Canadian citizen, currently visiting Toronto. Timeline?

Right. Would applying for an extension before getting married complicate the process and have a higher chance of getting rejected?

Marrying Canadian citizen, currently visiting Toronto. Timeline?

Gotcha. Sounds good. Another question - as I mentioned, we'd like to have a bit of planning time for the actual wedding. Would we be able to apply for the extension WITHOUT being married, and get married in the following month or two? Or is that risky/unacceptable.
