No, it was just a standard CIC email id - donotreply@cic.gc.ca. It just said, "We've sent you a message about your application". I logged in the GC Key a/c and found document there. Update: Got PPR on Jan 13

Got Pre-Arrival letter for my parents today. Refer to my signature for more details.

So my parents are traveling to India from their current country of residence (Tanzania), and they will be going back to Tanzania in early January. Do I need to update IRCC of this change? If they get PPR, can they do it from VFS India? (their biometrics were done at VFS Dar-Es-Salaam).

No they won't reject your travel for that.

You should give them a call with the file number. Usually, they take 3-4 days to process the file once it's initiated by Passport Seva.

You can if it’s something urgent. But beware you might not get it. Sometimes they just ship it (if you selected postal delivery), and the status will still say “passport printed”. I’d rather pick up from BLS.

So my friend applied on Aug 25th (normal category) and received his passport today (no police verification required). On a flip side, my application (applied Aug 23) is still showing "processing at embassy/consulate general" with PV initiated on Sept 22. What a joke of an organization CGI...

In some cases they take additional time to start processing. Give a call to BLS Surrey or visit them if you're close enough.

Yes they did on Sept 22. Yesterday my brother submitted requested docs to local police station, awaiting approval now!

Yes, currently showing - "Application Granted on pre police verification basis". According to passport India website, it takes 3 business days to dispatch after PV is done. So all depends on PV now.
