Sponsor (PR) can leave Canada during Sponsorship application?

The risk you run is if they,f or any reason, believe the PR isn't just visitng outside of the country, but residing in another country - then your app would be refused because the PR needs to live here during the application process.

x2 update [interview day booked right away] Inld Interview

Re: Inland Sponsorship Approved - September 3rd - How Long For Interview [Etobicoke? Our only concern is to not miss the email/letter from the government - the last update on her file states: "We sent you a letter on September 2, 2015. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting...

Hello All! Woo, so my wife was approved and is pending her interview date - as we are hoping to visit her family overseas but don't want to be away when they schedule her interview, how long does it generally take before they contact us again to schedule the interview at CIC Etobicoke? Any...

Denied OHIP on Stage I With 'Request For Information (Police Check/Medical')

Thank you for your reply. Argh...so, we aren't actually approved in principal yet then? I guess we mistakenly had our hopes up as the request included Police and Medical as well. Why would they not require the 'Stat Dec of Common-law' document up front with our application? As we are now...

Denied OHIP on Stage I With 'Request For Information (Police Check/Medical')

Hello again everyone, Had an interesting and frustrating time at Service Ontario today. Went in with my wife to have her apply for her OHIP card after recieving our Stage 1 approval - request for additional documents (inland app). After reading how various people had various degrees of ease...

A Quick and Hopefully Easy Commonlaw Question

Good afternoon all! So my wife and I recieved our approval of sponsor/request for additional documents! Horray! This came 15 months after our app was recieved. One question - her package requests, in addition to police/medical, a IMM5409 - Declaration of Commonlaw form. As we applied as...

    Spousal sponsorship

We filed an OWP along with our app, yes - as we have recieved no other communication besides the confirmation of receipt, I have to presume this is the pilot program. Makes the wait a bit more bearable at least.

    Spousal sponsorship

Just recieved our OWP for my wife (inland sponsorship spousal, filed Feb 2014). Valid for 2 years, which damned well better be more then enough time for her PR to finalize. A small step, but at least a positive one in the right direction. No longer the stress of only having a 1 income household.

Inland Common-Law PR OWP Pilot program Travelling outside of Canada

Then why are you asking..? The answer is because no matter what anyone tells you, the risk is indeed present and up to you to decide on. It sucks but it's also possible to be denied, regardless of an OWP. :(

Inland Common-Law PR OWP Pilot program Travelling outside of Canada

The risk is indeed real - my wife and I went for our second (Eastern) wedding and, on the return trip, ran the same risks, minus the work permit. This included: - Delta almost not allowing her to board from our US to Canada portion as she didn't have a 'return' ticket but would have to enter as...

[INLAND] Change of Status - Will It Delay Times Even Further?

Hello All, Just a quick question for those in the know - my commonlaw partner and I submitted our application February 12/14; since then we have legally been 'formally' married [August 2014]. I am writing an email now to CIC to reflect this, however a thought occurred - will this possibly delay...
