I concur with your advise. Postponing the citizenship ceremony is definitely not a good idea. You need to surrender your Indian passport and apply for the OCI through BLS. I am not aware if there is a provision for urgent processing of the OCI though.

As far as I know, No the ceremonies are still online.

Well. The eligibility didn't start at all. I applied in January 2022 and soon received a biometrics request. After that, there was dead silence with everything showing under process. A couple of days ago I get an update that the visa has been approved. This whole status tracker is useless.

Oh wow so you finally got Oath invite. Congratulations buddy. We are processing through the same office and also took our tests on the same date. Yet for me everything else except Background and test is in progress.

I would be interested to know the answer as well. But I think it depends on your processing centre. You can only compare processing times within a processing centre.
