Hey all, I am in the process of surrendering my Indian passport. I just wanted to check what to do about my aadhar card ? Do I have to surrender that too ? Or can I keep it as an OCI ?

I would advise you to renew your Indian passport as you might want to travel to your country for which you would need a passport to do so. However, if you don't have any plans for travel, then you can skip renewing your Indian Passport

Congrats Kenjia, that is super fast for an overseas application. I was told 10 business days for an in Canada Passport application.

As per my experience, any one ID is required to be valid. It can be your home country current passport too.

Hi Its a glitch, I got my citizenship already and the message stayed until I was approved for citizenship and then it went off.

For me when the file location was pending for oath, I got an update I think by the next month for all the other 3 to be completed and oath date was given the next day. No harm in trying to email them IMO. My file was moved to Vancouver too

That means your oath is just pending, I suggest send an email to the Vancouver oath email and ask them if they can schedule you.

Most oaths are being held online/virtually. I dont think there is a clear timeframe when in person oaths will be available.

Hi, there is no seperate fees to be paid for the certificate. It’s included in the initial fees that you paid while applying for citizenship.

Got mine a while back. Not sure what time they delivered as I checked after I came from work, but Canada post said they deliver till 8 pm for residential addresses

Hopefully, I wont be able to check my mail during the day due to work but do let me know if you get anything meanwhile.
