We landed on July 14 at Pearson airport. No sign of PR cards yet. ECAS does not show any status of the cards - last update is of the landing date. A couple of families we know who landed on the same day have received their cards yesterday. Anxious now ???

For those of us who have done a short landing, would appreciate your help on a matter. For Jewelry that we would be carrying when we relocate, do we require the valuation + pictures when we do our short landing? All comments welcome :)

Background checks and criminality checks is a part of the process. They do it for all applicants, not necessarily if the visa officer suspects misrepresentation. Cheers!

You could try writing to LVO and check if they can give you any details about what happened to your file. Provide the file number in your email.

Hey there, sorry for the delayed reply. Missed seeing this post. Hope you must have received yours by now... Our pps were submitted to embassy in AUH - reached there on Jan 26th and returned via aramex on Feb 21st.

Canada & Australia seem to be the HOT destinations to immigrate in the recent years. Since most if not all of us have made a choice of one over the other, would be nice to know the reasons that made us pick Canada and not Australia. Please share your thoughts ;D

We submitted ours passports on Jan 26th (received at the embassy) and returned by aramex on Fab 21st.

I don't think your kids need to accompany you. When they accept passports to be sent by Aramex, they really don't expect all the members to be present for passport submission. Good luck to them with their exams. :)

I got my passports today as well. The visa on the passports don't have a photo on them

My agent had sent an email in response to the passport request email. The program assistant replied in a few days.

My PPs were delivered at the embassy on Jan 26th. Still no sign of the return. When enquired, my program assistant replied they are in queue for processing and will be returned as soon as they are stamped with the visa.

GCMS notes could give you an insight into what is causing this delay. Hope you have ordered them.

Can you please elaborate on the verification episode. It would just throw some light into what could be the consequences. As a thumb rule, if CIC is convinced that an applicant misrepresented in the application, the application gets rejected and applicant may get a 2 year ban. However, whether...
