Airbnb is a pretty good and safe short term plan.. you will have to search and visit various options for longer term accommodation once you land.. sites like craigslist and kijiji.ca will help you figure out where to look.... you have a good plan and it works every time! good luck :)

Airbnb Canada should be your best source for very economical temp accomodation if you're not looking at booking a mid-size hotel.... totally depends on your budget though... I will be booking thru Airbnb for first 2 weeks and will try to find housing in the interim.

hello - i'd applied from India and always had my local (India) address on ecas.... i changed it to another India address sometime last year, which got updated within a few weeks. it has been the same since... after PPR, i visited VFS to submit my passport and did NOT opt for any courier...

Got my PP back from VFS Delhi in 5 days! I have my COPR and visa valid until Jan'17... planning to land in May'16. :) Good luck to everyone who are still in the queue....

i think it's a good sign... my guess is that the reassessment is generally preferred for outside Canada applicants when the application is towards closure. there was no deadline mentioned to me in the reassessment email... i just did it in a couple of days. i would suggest the same to you, it...

if you see my timeline on left, you'll notice i got a medical reassessment done earlier this month on request from CIC despite my original medicals running until Mar'16.... so im presuming the visa validity will be atleast for another 6mnths... if not, i will prepone my plan accordingly :)

Got " Ready for visa" email just now.... :D The email straight away tells me to submit passports locally in India thru VFS so no change in visa office required. All done and dusted! I wish everyone on this forum all the very best.

I just noticed though the status says "Decision Made", there is no additional line inside ECAS that has the DM statement (...decision has been made...office will contact you...etc) - is this normal? I may be just overthinking at this stage but the fact that there's still no PPR, it (decision)...

Got DM today.... :o 19+ months of waiting comes to an end! Hoping it's a positive one, yet to get a PPR. :)
