    JULY 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

    1. No but they may ask where he is, you will just need a valid answer, not having a passport and he is at our house would certainly be sufficient. They just want to know that you will actually be living together. 2. Nothing really, they will ask a couple of questions like criminal offices...

Experienced people should help new members

Interesting, I was one of those people who stopped reading this site as much when I got COPR, although I do check back occasionally and answer what I can. But when I was regularly using this site there were days I was quite tempted to write a post opposite to this one, suggesting that people do...

    Kinda complicated. Need help!!

Also, I don't believe you sound like you have the required proof to show you are in a conjugal style relationship. This requires much more that just cards, boarding passing, communications etc. Couples who live in the same city but choose not to live together have these things. CIC want to...

    Kinda complicated. Need help!!

The most important date to CIC is the date that you and your boyfriend started living together. You must have been living together for atleast a year before you submit your application. You will need sufficient proof to show cohabitation as well, ie lease, utility bills in both names. If you...

On IEC from NZ - Now my boss wants me to stay. What next?

It sounds to me if you have been living with your Canadian Common law partner for at least a year you should be applying for Permanent Residency. I did it a while back and it took about 5 months all up, so you would need to probably extend your stay as a visitor for a while but afterwards you...

Spouse Open Work Permit for IEC Work/Holiday

Im not sure if she is visa exempt or not, but if she isn't yes you may be able to get her a TRV, but the approval of that is never guaranteed, she will have to show strong proof to her home country so they don't think she will just stay in Canada. She won't be able to work but she will at least...

    DECISION MADE?!?

I went through Sydney, and thats exactly how it happened for me too, similar timeframe as well. They will send you an email soon requesting copy of your passport, and a few more photos. Its definitely good news. Sydney VO is awesome!!

Which way to Jump? Should I try for PR?

Yes, they will only be concerned with public health issues when it comes to your medical, tb things like that. Once you have completed all the forms you will just put them in order as per the checklist, it will all come together. But if you have any specific questions people on this forum can...

Which way to Jump? Should I try for PR?

Im not an expert but that doesn't sound like an issue, they only care about welfare.

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

There is always a risk of getting denied at the border especially if you turn up with all your worldly possessions(probably best to travel with enough for a holiday and have everything else sent over later). But you can help yourself by getting onto your application asap, if you can't get the...

Which way to Jump? Should I try for PR?

I recently got my PR through the Sydney VO, total time for processing was just over 5 months. As long as you submit a complete application I can't imagine yours would be much different to that. And as far as your previous cancer, it won't make a difference to your application, for spousal...

OUTLAND or INLAND? Aussie & Canadian couple of 7 years w/ questions!

I went through Sydney recently, total processing time was just over 5 months. Even if they slow down a little you should still be fine. In regards to proof, you need to include two different types. One is to prove your common law status(shared bank accounts, tenancy agreements etc) and the...

    NZ Police record.

You need to use the form giving CIC permission to request it from MOJ. I have read of people who have requested it themselves thinking it would speed things up, but really it showed them down as CIC had to come back and request it from them later.

    JULY 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

It was very simple, although I was travelling alone with our 18 month old daughter and had just got off a flight from NZ so she didn't have the patience to wait quietly, so they let me to the front of the line. If that hadn't happened I'm not sure I would have made my connection even though I...

    JULY 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

I landed at Vancouver Airport today, all very unexciting and sort of hard to believe it is all over now!!

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

I landed at Vancouver Airport today, pretty simple. The line was reasonably long, but since I had a 18 month old with me who after being stuck on various planes/airports for the previous 21 hours and with more ahead of us still, quite understandably didn't want to sit patiently in line, a very...

Not here for long, I just don't think I will get it on time, especially with all the public holidays, then I'm worse off.

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

I landed in NZ to an email from Canada Post telling me they delivered it to me this morning. Wonderful timing!!!! I know its good news, but so frustrating it feels like bad news. Oh well I guess we are off to Vegas in the new year for a weekend!! I think they would have received my Passport...

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

I don't think anyone will be able to help you with this sorry. You seem to have gone through a new process through Missisauga, most people get posted their COPR. Although I imagine you will land, I couldn't imagine why else they would have an interview.
