    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Received our Approval March 2. Actually didn't receive any notice, and were back in the USA visiting family, so found out about it at the border crossing when we returned to Canada. Exciting. I know this means lots of us will start to hear something. Good luck to everyone else in the journey!

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Well, We got "Decision Made" update on ECAS. But still have not heard from them. If we have been corresponding by email, will they email us regarding the decision, or should we expect a mailed notice? We had contemplated calling and asking about a refund this week, so this is great news...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Got a message on Feb 20 asking for FBI Clearance. Had sent it in October 6th as soon as we'd received it from FBI directly (file was in Mississisauga at the time). called back the next day and was told, "this is why you should wait until we ask fro things before you send them in, so things...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Thanks! The copy I got has a seal and a signature, but it is most definitely a photo copy as the seal and signature are not originals. Happy to mail it in. Have an email in to Ottawa to verify. I think we fell victim to the usual 2-3 week hold up on USA-Canada mail. Not sure if it affects...

Congrats to all who received Sponsorship approval! Things are starting to get moving for many of us. great to see. We received SA on September 29. File sent to Ottawa. Sidenote: Any other USA-to-Canada Applicants who might be able to help me with fingerprint/background question...we sent...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Thanks. that is the plan. Wouldn't mind saving the 25 bucks if email/fax is acceptable though. Odd that they would disclose specific number/email address and an agent "codename" if it were a generic message. Update: Just got off the phone and fax is OK. I guess it is because of the...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Received an email on Tuesday, Sept 23 asking for August version of IMM1344. Filled and faxed back to CIC. Also will scan and email a copy to be sure. Disappointing development considering other Ottawa applicants have already received sponsorship approval.

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Great. Thank you. I was thinking the same thing. Still playing the waiting game. But at least we know it's not collecting dust in a room somewhere.

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

we received an email saying that CIC had received our package as of August 11. Is this considered AOR? I've updated the spreadsheet as such, but not sure if this means anything other than it's been received. Could I still receive a request for updated forms, or is this a sign that i am past...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

We sent our package via UPS on August 5. It was received and signed for in Mississauga on August 11. That's the last we've heard. Now the waiting begins! ::)

    Re-Sending FBI Police Check

It seems as though some people on here might recommend to send your Application immediately and get the CIC process started while waiting for the FBI to return the police clearance...Can anyone who has filed outland recently fill us in on how the process played out for them? has anyone taken...

    Fingerprints

I am confused a bit by this. Is a police clearance from the USA acceptable in the eyes on CIC? Those are easy to get for people still living in the US. I was under the assumption that we were to send fingerprints to the FBI and wait for that clearance, then sedn those results to CIC with the...

    Fingerprints

Good stuff. Thank you both. We are heading to MB and there is no waiting period. So my intention is to apply for it as soon as we have sent the package. As far as fingerprints I will have to send without and hope it does not cause an issue. Seems like a lengthy process that might be best...

    Fingerprints

Hi All, Looking for some quick advice if anyone has the knowledge... 1. When it comes to fingerprints, can we send in our application without them (in order to get the process started) and simply provide them at the time that CIC asks for them? Don't want to wait an extra month or two to...

    Health Care Coverage

I know the frustrating part of it all is that the "assessments" are generally in a que, and no matter how complete and accurate you are, you must wait. I just went through the pain and agony of obtaining a US green card 3 years ago, and this process is 10 times more confusing and complicated...

    Health Care Coverage

I fully understand that outland is a quicker way to go. I guess my confusion was that "first stage approval" is not for 11 months. My assumption was that once they have reviewed and approved the sponsor, that would grant first stage approval and we could get the work permit approved before the...

    Health Care Coverage

The problem with outland is that we have 0 chance of obtaining any medical coverage for the birth of our child. I guess I don't understand what our options are. In my mind: Inland = Longer processing time, open work permit, health coverage Outland = Quicker processing time, no work...
