Since it been past the processing time, you should call cic and check upon the status. The processing time has been updated on the website. They are currently working on applications reached on sep 30.

Do you mind telling when you applied for BOWP? is it a paper application? I called cic this morning and they said that they cannot give information on the status unless the application reached them before August 15 for paper applications, (as per the current processing times on their website).

One more thing, you have to provide proof to service canada that you already applied for a new permit in order to be considered that you are infact in implied status. In my case, I submitted my work permit application copy. You need to do this in person at the service canada office.

You dont have to inform service canada about your yet to expire SIN. when you SIN expires your online account will be on hold. A message displays saying that you need to call service canada. And when you call that that number, you will be told that since your SIN expired you will not be able to...

Unfortunately, you cannot extend your SIN validity until you get your new work permit. But your EI application will not be affected as you are on implied status. And also, once your EI gets approved, you will get paid all through your implied status. All the best. And no worries.

Very sorry to hear about it. Were you on closed permit when you applied for BOWP? Will you be allowed to work after applying for restoration of status? Or do you have to get an LMO to apply for a new work permit?

Never send originals if not asked!! Because, those documents will not be returned in the future. Send a photocopy of the birth certificate and certified translation as per the cic checklist. If you are still worried, get the photocopy of your birth certificate notarized, though its not required.
