Hi everyone! I flagpoled and landed in Canada two days ago!! My mother-in-law was kind enough to drive my wife and I across the US border and back. I was so worried about bringing extra documentation to show CBSA when I landed in Canada (in case I got grilled for whatever reason) that I...

What should I bring for a flagpole landing?

Mexico is not visa-exempt so I had to send my passport to the VO where they stamped/glued/pasted an immigrant visa right onto one of the pages. The same thing is done with TRVs and my US tourist visa is also "stamped" onto another page of my passport in the same way. If you're visa-exempt you...

What should I bring for a flagpole landing?

That was the original plan, until I read a thread in the forum in which someone said not all border crossings have immigration services. I went to the CBSA website to check and sure enough, Point Roberts doesn't.

What should I bring for a flagpole landing?

Hehehe!! I actually told my wife, half-jokingly, that I wanted to wrap myself in a Canadian flag after landing and have my picture taken for the occasion and she looked at me like I had three heads ;D Thanks! We will be going through the Pacific Highway border crossing in BC as the wait times...

What should I bring for a flagpole landing?

I am currently living in Canada with my wife on a study permit and we received my stamped passport and COPR from the Mexico City VO (we applied outland) a couple of weeks ago. We live near the border, as do my in-laws, and my mother-in-law wants to drive across the border to buy pop from the US...

It took the VO almost 3 weeks to return my passport. They received it on the 6th, stamped it on the 8th, and the letter that they sent along with it is dated May 15th... but the tracking number for the prepaid envelope wasn't activated until the 25th. You're almost there!

Spouse sponsorship - Inland vs Outland and accompany immediately ***HELP NEEDED*

You can apply outland even if she is in Canada with you - the current processing time for the New Delhi office is 16 months. She can leave Canada and even if she gets refused re-entry, it will not jeopardize the PR application for her. The only drawback of that is that if the New Delhi office...

Spouse sponsorship - Inland vs Outland and accompany immediately ***HELP NEEDED*

In addition to the suggestions from truesmile and tishness, I *strongly* recommend that she applies for her visitor visa BEFORE you two get married. This is because CIC deems that a spouse (of a visitor visa applicant) who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident establishes an applicant's...

Are B4 forms needed if flagpoling?

Thanks taffy! I don't think there's anything at home that I would want to bring at a later date so I guess I don't need either of the B4 forms after all.

Are B4 forms needed if flagpoling?

Hi all, I've been living in Canada with my wife on a study permit while we waited for the PR process to finish (we applied Outland). The VO just returned my passport with the visa and my COPR and we are going to drive down to the border so I can flagpole. I have been reading some of the...

Wooohooo!!! Yesterday I received my passport with the visa affixed and COPR, along with some of the supporting documents we sent in, a letter, and 21 of my photos (uhh I can't even remember sending that many but ok). :D We will head to the border in a couple of weeks and take a day trip to the...

Weird. I had ordered notes on March 16 and I didn't get them until May 11, after Decision Made on my ECAS. No idea why they took so long but the notes were generated 3 days after I requested them. In any case, I just ordered notes today, just for curiosity's sake.

You got really recent notes?? Did you just order them? Maybe I will order mine too if they are not taking 30 days to send them - it would be interesting to see what's holding them up. Or maybe I'm just being impatient hahaha.

No idea. Probably nothing, or they're gathering up all the paperwork - we sent in a rather heavy application :D

Congratulations!!!! We're still waiting for them to send my passport back to me. I'm obsessively checking the FedEx tracking number for the prepaid label to see when it updates, and nothing yet.... figures!

The last time I contacted the VO I asked two questions and they only answered one. Maybe try contacting them again asking to clarify what you should do now regarding his children? Not super hopeful about it but they may respond. It's worth a try.

Good morning all! Just checked my ECAS - it has changed from In Process to Decision Made. 8) The VO received my passport almost a week ago. Good luck to all!!
