1. There is no impact on their PR application if they are travelling to Canada. 2. There is no need to inform IRCC as they will automatically know when they meet the CBSA officer at Port of entry. 3. There is nothing else you are missing here.

I believe your parents had given medicals for their extension of supervisa and they are less than year ago, so that might be the reason that cic has accepted the old medicals for application.

Your are right, I didn't saw that part earlier, I will wait for a day or two. Most of the times any documentation request gets updated in ecas. If there is really a form request we will be sure via ECAS.

Congrats, If the status of the your sponsorship application is “in process “ then soon it would be decision made. Once Sponsorship eligibility is approved then biometrics and medicals will be the next step.
