I'm landed as PR last July but because of some issues, I haven't gotten my PR card yet. I come from a Visa Non-exempt country and I really need to travel soon. Am I allowed to apply for a Canadian Visa just so I can travel and come back here?

they sent me a letter. i got my appointment letter a week after they sent my "decision made" letter.

this is what it says on my eCas now.. You entered Canada at the CIC Vancouver Admissions office on July 27, 2011 and became a Permanent Resident. however, i landed july 25... do i have to call somebody for the changes or is it really like this? just wondering..

just an update.. got my AIP letter and decision made letter from Vegreville today. I got my work permit 4 days ago. I hope I'll get my landing date letter soon... I just want to know when cuz im going to Toronto in a couple of weeks.. :(

yes angtao is right. 2nd step will be background checks, etc. i submitted my application for open work permit together with my application for PR. So i got my work permit when i got approved for 1st stage. but only after 2 days, i got approved for stage 2... i'm just waiting for the landing date.

oh my.. what happens then? so my PR card won't have the correct name.. :( there's nothing i can do? my parents gave me a really long name. its like 2 names but with a hyphen that's why they consider it as just 1 name and not first name and middle name :(
