As far as I know, the security clearance must be valid when judge is ready to approve your case , otherwise they will request a new one.

I would assume it is pre-test RQ, since you mentioned that the concern was not addressed during the interview. Hearing might be required in this case.

You might need to submit more documents to support your case or see a judge in person. Just wait then.
