That’s one thing, the other thing probably is re-triggered CSIS review. I bit we all had a similar timeline wrt getting background checks completed. In my case, it took 8 months to get background checks completed, mostly related to CSIS as criminality (ie. RCMP) took only 2 days to complete...

Prohibitions in progress for 5+ months and counting!!!

It’s ridiculous what IRCC is doing to ppl with unreasonable delays in completing prohibitions. It looks like it’s purely based on officer whims in interpreting the prohibitions act. The short answer is mandamus!

Congrats!! If I may ask, did you end up perfecting records? Did judge issue orders to IRCC to make decision on your application? Or did IRCC move on your application after the threat letter from lawyer? Thanks

Same here, language and physical presence completed, prohibition pending for over 5 months now! Did you order GCMS notes? If yes, check application location (ie. E-grant pending docs). delay in prohibition could be a result of pending report from CSIS or CBSA.

~4-5k. Depending whether u perfect mandamus or not. Sometimes IRCC actioned application after receiving notice from lawyer (ie. No need to moved to next step)

If the wait for prohibitions is over a month, I believe we are for the long haul. Next month is the 2nd year anniversary of my application. Seems like mandamus is the only way out of this dead-end situation. Does anyone have a successful mandamus case to share? I’m getting sick of looking at...

Yes, completed back in March 2023.

I’m October 2021 applicant. Language and physical presence updated to complete in May 2023. Prohibitions is pending since then.

Thanks for sharing! If I may ask, how long was your prohibitions in progress for before it turned to completed? When did you apply for citizenship? And at what point in your application did you file for mandamus?

I think it’s purely random luck with absolutely no signs of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, or country of origin. I’m sure most ppl who are facing this issue are typical Western Europe Caucasian minorities.

Looks like one of the numerous “place holders” they use to park applications until they feel like getting back to it! I’ve been stuck in “e-grant pending docs” since May 2023 with no end in sight!

This seems to be more common now, partially completed LPP. I’be been waiting on prohibitions since May, that’s when language and physical presence was completed.

Congrats !!! With hundred of thousands applications under process, being scheduled for oath feels like winning the lottery !
