    Urgent help needed,experts opinions needed

It's original they want, to be in possession of the PR card after citizenship is granted, is illegal, hence, mail in the PR card. If you don't have the PR card, you'll need a good explanation and/or police report number, as to why you don't have it. Plus, if you don't have it, there is an...

    Urgent help needed,experts opinions needed

Yep, this is standard. So once they receive the card, in about a month, you'll get the certificate. It's all good news! We didn't have a PR card to submit, since it was stolen, so we submitted the police report number.

    Proof of Citizenship Certificate

I just read your original post, you will have to take the time to go down to the USA and with the father, go to the passport office together and sign for your 3 yr old to have an American passport. There is no other way in the USA for a 3 yr old to have a photo ID. It also seems CIC now...

    Proof of Citizenship Certificate

Ok I have to ask, I applied for my own proof in 2014, I was able to log in quickly to see the status and everything. I also sponsored my family to move to Canada, no issues logging on. Applied for my sons grant of citizenship after we moved here, bam everything went well. Now, I'm helping my...

HELP: I forgot my name on pictures

Mine was for 1st time proof of citizenship. But you will find that is the requirement for all CIC required pictures, it's not a new requirement. It's even required for a Canadian passport. Like I said, I just forgot my name, the photographers info and date were on the back of the pic. Good luck!

HELP: I forgot my name on pictures

I was the only applicant, and my photos did include the photographers stamp with their information, it was just missing my name. It was no problem, and they accepted it.

Tomorrow will be 12 months since applying for Citizenship

Well this is interesting. We cross into the States about once a week and my husband contracts remotely in Canada, for American companies. Now I'm dreading when it comes time for him to apply for citizenship.

    Kid citizenship application

The photo can be taken anywhere, just be sure to print the directions and take them to photographer and make sure they follow it to a "T". As for being present, I don't know that, I wondered that myself and there are many other parents who have wondered. It's not real clear and one of those...

PR Card misplaced or lost, what can I do before go for oath?

I had this issue with my son, his card was in my wallet, which was stolen. CIC had me fill out the Solemn Declaration, promising to turn the card in, if it's ever returned to us. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/prcard-lost.asp

    Mother Canadian - Citizenship question

Yeah, no, wait until you go to apply for a Canadian passport.... It's not easy and they make it rather difficult. Apparently all Canadian's should be required to know a fellow Canadian for at least 2 yrs :D I would suggest rewording this line "applying for birth certificate and is applying...

    Mother Canadian - Citizenship question

I needed a guarantor after moving from NJ to British Columbia and didn't know anyone. For the passport, the guarantor was someone who was Canadian and known you for at least 2 years. If you don't have one, they allowed some professionals to guarantee you. I didn't have either, so I had to pay a...

    CIT0001E - Document Checklist Questions

First, with your required documents, you don't send the originals, you send in certified/notarized photocopies, you will not be without your passport. Your mothers birth certificate is what they will want to see from that list. Some people don't have a BC, since their parent was naturalized...

    Applying citizenship for my daughter

There is no need to wait, you can write a letter with the application stating you haven't received the card yet. I did and they accepted it. Our car window was since smashed out (WELCOME TO CANADA, that shite never happened to us in the US, I'm still bitter) and my sons PR card was in my wallet...

    Applying citizenship for my daughter

Yes, you can apply now. I also became a citizen with the law change of 2009 and couldn't pass on citizenship to my son. My son landed in late June, we finalized our move from the US to Canada in August and I applied for his citizenship in late August. His application has just gone to "in process".

Application for Canadian Citizenship-Minor Question 9

The law changed for kids born after April 2009, if I recall correctly. So the kids born after 2009 are the ones who need citizenship? If yes, then she needs to sponsor them, they are in Canada illegally. First, I'm pretty sure she needs to make sure the kids get legal, I think that can be done...

When can I apply for my child citizenship?

I started a spreadsheet, its in my signature. If you could add your info when you apply, that would be great. There aren't many of us non concurrent applications in the board. At this point, a whole whopping 2! Good luck!

When can I apply for my child citizenship?

You are a Canadian Citizen, so you can apply for your child. I'm a Canadian, my child is sponsored by me, he landed this summer and I applied back in August. Children do NOT have to meet the residency requirements if one of the parents are already citizens. It's called a non concurrent application.

Application for Canadian Citizenship-Minor Question 9

So the father got his proof of citizenship before the 2009 law change? If so, then the kids born before 2009 are Canadian citizens. The kids born after 2009 are not citizens and need to be sponsored, because they are 2nd generation born abroad.

Application for Canadian Citizenship-Minor Question 9

The only thing that would make sense is if one of the parents (the husband or wife) received Canadian citizenship when their parent/s were granted citizenship; naturalized. If that is the case, then that parent is a naturalized citizen, which would mean all 5 kids would be citizens, so long as...
