Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

After the call yesterday, I was surprised to see my credit card charged today by Sc Varennes Passport 2. Not reading too much into it as the agent clearly said there is a 6-8 week delay but keeping the faith that miracles do happen :)

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Just got off a call with Passport office after a wait of 1 hr 52 minutes (about 500 callers before me). The agent confirmed that my application is received and gave me the file number. She mentioned that there is a 6 to 8 week delay and given that my application was received on Mar 11, it is...

Online citizenship test completed, waiting for next steps

Does it specifically say that you have to send by post? I got the request along with the email for citizenship test. The email clearly said to send electronic copies by email - separate email for me and my wife as the subject of the email needs to b Application number + Name. They also asked for...

    Study for Citizenship Test

From personal experience, read Discover Canada twice and then take as many tests as possible. I took the tests on apnatoronto and an app called Canadian Citizenship Test Free 2021 by Alpaca Software. I got the test invite on Aug 10 and passed the test on Aug 15 - all prep was done during these 5...

    October 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Too good to be true, actually. How can they receive our fingerprints on Aug 18 when we had them done on Aug 19? But I am not complaining :)

    October 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Something very strange happened that I cant resist sharing. Received second fingerprint request (first once completed in Mar 2020) on Aug 17, 2021. Had my fingerprinting done yesterday (Aug 19) evening. Today when I checked the status, it says Fingerprints received on Aug 18. Same for my wife...

Hello Everyone, Me and my wife, both of us successfully completed the citizenship test. There were no issues with having the same email id for both of us.

Same email id for all family members

    Thanks everyone.

Same email id for all family members

Thanks. Maybe my thinking is influenced by the fact that for most things online email is a unique identifier - two accounts cannot have same email id. I guess that will not be applicable here. I will provide an update here once I have gone through the process. Me and my spouse, both received the...

Same email id for all family members

Hello Fellow Applicants, While applying for citizenship, I provided the same email id for my spouse and kid. I am wondering if this will cause any issues in taking the online citizenship test (because it will ask for the email id provided in the application) - as in expecting a unique email id...

    PR renewal during Covid

Hello Everyone, We applied for citizenship in Oct 2019, were asked for and submitted fingerprints in Feb 2020 and have waiting since then. Our PR cards expired in May 2020 and given that citizenship is quite sometime away, we are submitting application to renew them. I do have a question though...

Re: FSW 2014 Applicants Timeline- Lets Network Here.

Check what the document you received along with CoPR says. Probably no one will ask for PoF but what will you do if you are asked and you do not have it? Its not worth the risk. Bank statements suffice as PoF and they should be easy to get even if you are not in your home country.

Re: FSW 2014 Applicants Timeline- Lets Network Here.

My take on this: I don't believe sending PR card by courier is illegal. It is not mentioned as illegal anywhere - at least I have not been able to find any official statement to this effect. CIC not posting it outside Canada - that could have other reasons like they will have to charge...

Re: FSW 2014 Applicants Timeline- Lets Network Here.

Thanks. Worked out fine for me. We used DHL. I don't know the actual cost but guess it was around 80 - 90 CAD. The courier agent in Mississauga seemed to be aware that many people send PR cards. He specifically asked if its PR cards and then said OK.

Re: FSW 2014 Applicants Timeline- Lets Network Here.

Along with the CoPR you get a form which needs to be completed for kids immunisation. The form lists the ones that are expected to be done.

What does the letter accompanying your CoPR say? Mine clearly stated I can use bank statements without mentioning any country. It was issued from LVO.
