Linking MyCIC account to PR application

Oh. My. God. I've been trying to link my application for months but couldn't get it to work. I even mailed the CIC support twice but they couldn't help me either. But your instructions actually worked. Thank you so much! :D I think my problem may have been that I answered the last question with...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Hm, when I clicked on the Contact page, I only got a 404 Page Not Found. However, after using up my five daily attempts to link my application to my account, it said that I should file a technical issue support ticket from within my account. So I clicked on Report A Technical Issues in the top...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

When I go to www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp and enter my infos, the system tells me that our application package was received in April 2016. However, I can't seem to link my application to my MyCIC account. Is that normal after 9 months? Am I doing something wrong or do I have...

    Checking Application Status online

Not clear enough for me I guess. ;D We got the first confirmation email, which was addressed to my husband, a month ago. Today we got a second confirmation email saying basically the same thing but addressed to me. So I got my hopes up that maybe that meant that his sponsorship application got...

    Checking Application Status online

I just got an automated email from CIC - this time addressing me instead of my husband/sponsor - again confirming that they received the application in April. NOW it finally works with my info and the file number. Now I get "Permanent Residence Application Status: Application Received". Does...

    Checking Application Status online

I tried selecting "Application Number / Case Number" and using it with the "Application No.:" they gave us in the email. The number starts with an F, so I tried it both - with the F and without - while first using my husband's info and then mine. None of the combinations worked. :(

    Checking Application Status online

Thank you for the quick reply. Yes, I did try my own info as well but got the same error message. I guess I'll wait another week or so and then give the call centre a try.

    PR Card Photo Specs

When I had my PR application photos taken, the photographer lady said I need to take off my glasses. Same thing when they took photos of me during the medical exam and when I applied for my Ontario Photo Card. So I would assume he can't wear glasses.

    Checking Application Status online

Hi My husband (=sponsor) and I sent in my PR application in April. On May 25 (i.e. 34 days after we mailed the application), we got an email from CIC confirming they received the application. Every week since then, I've been trying to check the application status online on the CIC website, but...

    TRV for wife question

As long as she stays in status, everything is fine. I originally came to Canada on a WHV, then applied for a 6-month visitor visa, which was granted with no problem. During that time, I got married to my Canadian husband. Since my visa was about to expire before I had all the documents for my PR...

    TRV for wife question

I agree, visitor visas are usually valid for 6 months. So that's probably what you'll get. (Unless her passport expires in less than six months. If it does, then the visa will be valid until one month prior to her passport expiry date.)

Does Open Work Permit app sent with Inland PR app keep me in status?

Yes, that makes sense. (My passport is valid until 2022, so that wouldn't be a problem.)

Does Open Work Permit app sent with Inland PR app keep me in status?

Thank you for the helpful link! It also says there: "You may be eligible for the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) if you are included under one of the following categories: you have submitted an application for permanent residence in Canada, and Citizenship and Immigration Canada has...

Does Open Work Permit app sent with Inland PR app keep me in status?

Ah, I see. Thank you. Do you also know whether I could apply for OHIP with the OWP? I think I read on this forum a while back that this particular work visa would not be accepted by Service Ontario to apply for health coverage, but I might be mistaken.

Does Open Work Permit app sent with Inland PR app keep me in status?

Thanks, that's good to know! And does the OWP itself expire or is it valid until a decision is reached regarding my PR?

Does Open Work Permit app sent with Inland PR app keep me in status?

Hi I have a few questions about the OWP for sponsored spouses and staying in status during my PR application. I'm currently living in Ontario with my husband (= my sponsor) and we'll send off my PR application next week after my upfront medical. We're applying for inland PR. I'm here on a...

IMM 5669 - Personal History for freelance online work

Hi I'm currently trying to fill out IMM 5669, but I'm a bit lost at what to write in the Personal History part, so I really hope someone here can help me. Here's my story: I'm from Germany. I came to Canada on a Working Holiday visa in 2013 and since 2014, I extended my stay through visitor...

Working Holiday to tourist visa to Young Professionals

I'm from Germany and currently in Ontario on a Working Holiday visa which will run out in mid-September. According to what I read on this forum it is possible to change my Working Holiday visa to a tourist visa to extend my stay for up to six more months. Is that true? If so, how do I do that...
