It is still safer to apply with enough buffer or verifiable physical presence. At the end, what is 1-2 or even 3 months wait if it means you will have a smoother application vs getting delayed for further verification or worst be referred to a judge.

The requirement says VALID ID's. Once a passport is expired, it is no longer valid.

The passport office did not contact my guarantors. I think they select it randomly. But I believe they rarely contact guarantors/references. You already have gone through strict security check on your Citizenship applications.

RN there is really nothing that you can do than wait. Citizenship is a waiting game. Sometimes you get lucky sometimes you don't. Have faith and enjoy the beauty December has to offer. Next thing you know when you don't think about is you get your invite in your email. Good luck man!
