    yes, it is. you can use online bank account or create an account to register for gckey. Then link it to your step daughter's application. in my case, i created an account then linked it to my new born baby's application file.

    for question No. 1 i think it is a template email. 5 days after i got this kind of email, my newborn baby's file was transfered to Manila. i guess they will send the Sch A forms request with the medical request later. No. 2 try to search other posts in this forum, you will find a lot of answers.

    To clarify you, i have moved to Canada permanently at the beginning of this year. Otherwise, I can't sponsor the child. my family is still in my home country . Once the baby gets PR, they will move here.

    I think you(or your friend in the country) could ask the regional authority(place where you registered your marriage) to reissue the certifed copy because they have all your info there. It's hard to get them to reissue the new original copy.

    from what i read in the japanese forum, it's about 3-6 months. i think it depends on how fast you send your police certificate to them. mine was about 2.5 months(federal skilled worker).
