I too applied online, BOWP for myself and visitors permit for my wife on feb 27, it's been approved on April 28. It took 60 days.

Although the question was not for me, but the answer is Yes. You can apply multiple times. Even in my case, although my BOWP is approved,my existing employer is filing an closed WP extension.

@Hegarty - Any updates on your BOWP? Call CIC and they should be able to tell you the correct information. Information on MyCIC does not get updated all the time.

Earlier CIC call center used to say that CIC has not started working on it. But yesterday for the first time, they mentioned that my application is in progress. And Today morning when I called, they said that it approved as of yesterday. And it got updated on my CIC account around 3pm EST.

No, I have called them many times. Not less than 10-15 times during the last 2 months.

Hey Hegarty, 'In Progress' is good news. It probably means that CIC is working on your application. I was told yesterday that my application is 'In Progress'. I would suggest to wait till tomorrow morning. Call tomorrow morning(after 8am) and I hope they will give you the good news.

Ideally, if the processing time has crossed,the call center people are supposed to send a note to CIC. The automated system(while calling CIC) also says that Call center people should be able to take action if the processing time has passed.

And did you get an email after having the BOWP approved? or you just checked it online(in your CIC account).
