in or out - help a confused Brit!

I could be wrong, since my application wasn't from the UK, but I think the processing time for the UK is only like maybe 10 months...? I could be wrong though, it'd be wise to check the forums for your timeline. Definitely Outland though if you plan on still working in Asia.

ARE YOU REALLY IN LOVE?? YOU KNOW YOURSELF!

Most spouses who abuse their partners need no reason or excuse to harm their other. Looking at something too long could trigger it. You are essentially saying that it is pretty much always the victims fault. Quite a bit of spousal abuse is NOT from arguments. It is literally just to cause fear...

    Processing times for Outland application

I was in the same boat myself! (I'm american). My application, and quite a few others I've seen, have taken about 9 months from start to finish even with request for addition documents. As long as there are no delays you should be fine. :)

what does 'Decision Made' mean at CIC online service

From what I've been seeing, the average timeline is about 8-11 months (ballparking it) for outland applications in most places. If you've been waiting 3 1/2 months, it probably took you a month or so to get SA, so that's roughly 4 1/2 months. So if we subtract that, you're looking at about 4-7...

what does 'Decision Made' mean at CIC online service

This just means that your sponsor was approved for sponsorship. You're on the next step where they sent your application to your designated VO.

How did you meet your spouse?!

I'm in this boat too! I met my husband when I finally started to play well and joined a guild. Then we met accidentally again after he quit. (It was in a dungeon! :P)

Marriage of convenience: do we run the risk?

I was worried about that myself. Not being dressed up enough, I mean I got married to my husband in jeans and a tshirt... It went through fine though. Just include any kind of skype calls, text messages and etc, and you should be okay.

Outland - are there applicants who stay apart until the full process is over?

My husband and I got married, and he left to go back home (back to Canada) literally 3 days after. We were apart for 2 months before I came to Canada to be with him. I left for a month in 2014, came back, we filed. I stayed the entire time. I couldn't bear being apart after being apart for so...

    US Citizen marrying a Canadian

I'll be completely frank with you. Unless it is absolutely necessary to have a job, apply outland. Then you can always stay in the US and work until the end of processing (average time is 6-10 months), or you can just stay with your spouse in Canada until it is finished. You can't work or have...

Switching Inland to Outland Last Minute - Can it be Done?

As an American, unless money is absolutely an issue DO NOT FILE INLAND. It's a simple waste of time when you can file Outland and be done in ~6-9 months and even stay with your spouse the entire time. Sure, you can't work, but you can just stay with them as long as you don't stay longer than...

    Questions about COPR/TimetoLand

Since I was looking here, it seems that a couple of you are from the USA. They don't sent a PPR just so you know. You'll just get CoPR in the mail. It took me about a week after seeing DM to get mine. Mine was dated about 5 days before then though.

Extending my stay as a visitor while waiting for pr information

Definitely go outland as an American. 6-10 months and boom, done. Inland? Two years+ wait. Sure you can get an OWP... In 6-8 months.

Just getting started - need help finding open work permit forms

Apply for the extension online. You can do it the day before it expires or whatever if you want, and he'll have implied status until you guys hear from them.

Just getting started - need help finding open work permit forms

Ottawa had a bit of a snails pace issue earlier this year, seems they've picked up though. Outland is definitely the way to go if you don't need the PA to be working immediately. Then you can go to the nearest border crossing and Flagpole. You get your SIN normally after you land and go to...

Just getting started - need help finding open work permit forms

Unless the situation is COMPLETELY dire, I would apply Outland as an American. Average Inland applications take ~2 years, my Outland Application (I'm American), took literally 9 months.

Goods to Follow List &/or Goods Accompanying List Questions

I'm not completely sure, since like I said I didn't have to fill it out. I don't think that you have to price every since individual piece like clothing. Furniture and stuff is a different story I would think? I would just say to put what you think they would be worth? I would think that would...

Goods to Follow List &/or Goods Accompanying List Questions

You can fill out the paperwork ahead of time. I didn't have to do it myself, since all of my stuff was in Canada already, but I would take the time to properly fill it out as need be before the time comes that you need it.

American who wants to move to Canada to be with boyfriend!

As an American myself, who just completed the immigration process the 28th of last month, I can say with a ton of certainty that honestly, applying (after marriage or figuring out Common-law) and staying in the states to work would be a great idea in your case. I, myself, decided to wait it out...
