    APRIL 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

Life has been a whirlwind for the past couple weeks. My wife, step-daughter and I decided to take the opportunity to drive from Florida to Vancouver once we got the COPR. So they flew down and we loaded up our truck with all my stuff and took just over 2 weeks to drive to Bellingham WA. Did some...

    APRIL 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

Congrats! I was not even checking ECAS regularly because I figured any news was still months off and then my wife checks the mail and there is the COPR. They are really getting these applications done. I hope you get your COPR before the weekend so you don't have to wait all weekend for it.

    Some questions and advice needed

Any advice is appreciated. If you feel that it would be better to consult an immigration attorney please let us know as we are considering it. My wife (Canadian) and I (American) applied for outland PR in April. I live in Florida and she lives in Vancouver with her daughter. The three of us are...

    APRIL 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

Yeah, I was noticing that. It has not been updated since April 9 and still says they are processing sponsorship applications received on March 12. Oh well, its a marathon, not a sprint and like you said they will catch up.

    APRIL 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

MapleLeafBride, thank you for the advice, that is exactly what I am going to do as well. I had already gone ahead and printed off a new fingerprint card. Like you said, why take the chance? After all that we go through to make our applications perfect little things pop up, but by being...

    APRIL 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

I just realized an issue with my application as well. My PCC was dated December 10th and I didn't realize it had to be less than 3 months old when it is received by the sponsorship VO (Missassauga). Our application was received on April 11. Think I should just start working on getting a new...

    APRIL 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

That is great news! I know what you mean about mixed emotions, but it will pass. You could drive yourself mad constantly thinking about it and second guessing yourself. All will work out in the end and any mistake we have made can be corrected somehow, although we do not want to add any more...

Photocopy/scan of passport. Quality of photo.

I was having similar issues with my passport scans and found that by pressing down down hard on the lid of my flatbed scanner while the scan is happening really helped. My passport spine was kinda stiff so it was not laying flat and i think that had something to do with it maybe...

    APRIL 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

Exciting times indeed. Hope you can get your application in soon. Sydney is a very fast VO from what I have read. There is someone in the December 2013 outland applicants thread that went through Sydney and they landed in early March. Thanks for joining and good luck!

    Spousal sponsorship

Thank you for the clarification. I wish they would grant work permits for spousal outland applicants as well so families can be together while waiting for approval, but I can see the problems it would create for employers and CIC if the application was not approved.

    MARCH 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

Would that be a decision made on SA and then they send your application to your VO, which in your case is Sydney? I believe I read somewhere that you can call Missassauga and they can't comment on whether your sponsor was approved, but they can say if your application has moved on to your VO...

    Spousal sponsorship

Don't mean to threadjack here, but can you please briefly expand on "(c) he can work in UK but not in Canada until he has passed stage 1 of his application" or point me to where I can read more about that? I am a US citizen in process for PR and would be very interested in moving in with my...

    MARCH 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

Hello, Just wanted to check in and say hi and good luck to everyone. I am in the April outland applicants thread, but am watching this one closely as well as an indicator for when they will start processing April applicants. Read through and hoping for a flurry of AOR and SA activity today...

    Money

I do not think you would be entitled to a refund / partial refund if they refuse your application. Once they start processing it, the fee is no longer refundable. Source: cic website help centre, applying general section - I tried to post the link, but I am not allowed.
