    August 2013 Applications

Thanks! I guess it takes about 60 days to receive the PR Card after landing.

    August 2013 Applications

I had a question regarding the PR Card process. Do they automatically apply for the PR card when you land, or do you have to submit a separate application for this? Also, how long does it usually take to receive it? I know it says around 68 days at the current time but would like to hear from...

You should order your GCMS notes. The notes will likely provide some details on which stage your application is in.

    August 2013 Applications

Just received my CoPR in the mail yesterday! I called the CIC number to ask how long the wait would be if I were to land at a local office. He told me that it would be around 2 months. I think I will just go visit Niagara Falls on a weekend to land! Good luck to everyone else waiting for...

    Additional docs

I think that should be ok. You are effectively covering 12 months: 1. 4 months from August, 2012 to December, 2012 2. 8 months from January, 2013 to August, 2013 (assuming that the dates add up). If, for whatever reason, they haven't received your new NOA and T4, the VO will ask you for them...

    Additional docs

Not sure what other people's experience is like but I haven't received any response from the VO regarding my application. A question for you though - did you send pay slips along with your application for the remaining 9 months? You mentioned that you only sent T4 and NOA for 3 months of work...

Who waiting for PPR after medical done join here

I see where you are going with this... In any case, even if they sent her the RPRF email, I think the VO can still reject the application based on her eligibility. As I mentioned, it would be difficult to simply argue that they have already confirmed her eligibility until they issue PPR or CoPR...

This is also a bit unusual... they usually send the two in separate emails. They may be received on the same day but in different emails...

Who waiting for PPR after medical done join here

I'm not sure if this matters... Until they actually issue PPR and/or CoPR, I would imagine that the CIC/VO retains the right to re-open the file and investigate further. It may be unusual, but not strictly against the rules...

Do you have any contract that was executed between you and the employer outlining your title, responsibility, etc.?

I see.. this may be difficult to appeal unless you have hard evidence proving that the employer made a misstatement. Once again, could you please clarify the nature of the statement?

No NOA but T4 and Pay stubs

Cool, I will keep this in mind! I was always uncertain if non-Canadian resident for this purpose meant my immigration or tax status.

Just stepping back a little bit, it may be helpful if you could explain the situation (i.e. nature of the statement that the employer made, your occupation, etc.)

No NOA but T4 and Pay stubs

Probably makes sense! When they say up to 4 months, it is actually quite close to 4 months. I think it took me between 3-4 months for my first return. If anything, the VO will request for the NOA on a later date. I cannot see them rejecting your application just because you have not submitted...

I know this is what everyone says but I would recommend that you get an immigration lawyer. Also, it would probably be immensely helpful if you could get an official letter from your employer rescinding their previous "incorrect" statement. You haven't provided the nature of the misstatement but...

No NOA but T4 and Pay stubs

Just trying to understand how this could be the case. Are you certain that this is your first time filing your taxes? I see that this could be the first year you are paying any tax in Canada but you might have filed your tax return in previous years, not receiving or owing any taxes. If so...

No NOA but T4 and Pay stubs

Are you sure the accountant filed online? You cannot use NETFILE to file your tax return if: - you are filing an income tax and benefit return for the first time with CRA and the CRA does not have a complete date of birth for the taxpayer on record; - you are a non-resident of Canada... It is...

No NOA but T4 and Pay stubs

First tax return usually takes up to 4 months. Doesn't matter if you mail it or file online, it takes a much longer time because the CRA does not have any background information on you.

    T4 or NOA question?

I think the guys above made it clear, but you shouldn't have to submit anything on behalf of your husband, unless CIC/VO specifically asks for them subsequently. Hope that helps!

    T4 or NOA question?

I second everyone's reply. Just one question/concern, you were mentioning if you should submit your husband's T4 and/or NOA. NOA, I could understand but your husband shouldn't have any T4's as he is a visitor and wouldn't be allowed to work. I hope this is the case!
