credo - the same thing happened to me - 3 emails in a week saying account was updated, never anything new when I logged in. I checked daily and finally saw a few days later the status was "APPROVED". However, I never received an email about this update.

I could be totally wrong, but I believe I read somewhere that you CANNOT apply for extension before 90 days of current visitor record expiry? So because your Visitor Record states JULY 2015, and we are only in February 2014, it is more than 90 days before it expires?

If you are from Virginia, USA, American Citizen, I don't see why you would need a visitor visa before entering Canada. Just explain to them at the border that your father is in the ICU in Canada.
