    She had to fill the RQ because she left Canada few months after applying for Citizenship. We applied from Vancouver.

    I threw away the landing paper almost instantly, just to find out later that I need it. So, i had to ask for a replacement. Now you say I need to keep it until retirement? WTF are we living in a digital era of stone age?

    I don't think the first one is just a rumor. I think it's happening. The new processing times will be shorter because due to the new systems at the border that will automatically record entries and exits and will sent if to the federal gov.

    Yes links18, I know there is no legal requirement. But as you mentioned, they will extend the time to review the application until you lose the PR.

    @Lorris, yeap that is sad and it sucks. I understand that the Canadian Government tries to avoid abuse, but it does so at the expense of honest people. I wouldn't be surprised that at least 90% of the RQs were handed without any justified, solid reasons like a missing stamp or a month or so...

    You are also not told that if you apply for citizenship you are "grounded" to stay in Canada until you become a citizen. I just spoke with an agent who told, I quote, "we don't give the citizenship to people who don't live in Canada" even if they met all the criteria at the time they applied...

    Immigrants are not told when they come here that they need to keep copies (for years) of their bank statements, rent check copies, pay slips, a record of entry exits, airplane tickets, car rental, credit card statements, old passports, lease agreements and the list goes on.     It's actually 45 calendar days, not business days. At least in my case. Not sure how I can add an image to show they mention calendar days. That is not from the RQ but from a notice that came with the RQ.
