Help defeat the Conservatives for Bill C-24 (Federal Elections - October 19th)

I still fail to see why Canada has to specifically accommodate citizens in its laws, who have the urge to throw rocks at Israeli soldiers. This is way too absurd for anyone who does not think he has a personal score with that country. I would very much like Canadian authorities to investigate...

Help defeat the Conservatives for Bill C-24 (Federal Elections - October 19th)

Absolutely ridiculous. I don't feel the urge of attacking Israeli soldiers, and lack complete understanding how one can justify this. I am aware that in some parts in the world, hatred against Israel goes as far as to not allowing any Israelis (or people who have been to Israel) to enter the...

    Test on 8/28...however...

ERJOPA, be careful with the intent to accommodate your entire family during the oath. When I took my oath in Kitchener, every new citizen was allowed to bring one guest only (other people had to wait outside). Besides a limited capacity, there are also fire regulations that require a cap. So...

Oath Timeline after test at St. Clair Office

European immigrants are screened just as thoroughly. There are enough Europeans and US citizens who receive a RQ, just like me. If CIC was truly a racist institution, why would they allow approx. 250.000 newcomers to Canada every year? The citizenship process is just the last step. I'm not...

Lost Health card (id for citizenship)

If your health card was one of the ID documents you used in your application, contact the CIC call centre for guidance. I saw a guy who's interview was cancelled, as he lost his health card.

Oath Timeline after test at St. Clair Office

Proof? As I said before, the only sample of RQ recipients I witnessed was a sample of 30 people, who nearly all originated from the US or Europe. The percentage of immigrants belonging to an ethnic minority is just higher overall. That doesn't mean that they are more likely to get a RQ.

Oath Timeline after test at St. Clair Office

I strongly disagree. For my test only people who received a RQ were invited. There vast majority, me included, were Europeans or Americans and didn't belong to ethnic minorities. So please, stop spreading these rumours about CIC being racist. Even the officers themselves belonged to minorities...

    2011 and 2012 Applicants

The document is not useless, as you will need it later when claiming your pension. You are supposed to keep it safe.

RQ documents,Do we need to keep them ??

Some docs are neat to have at a later point in time, e.g. for tax purposes, or when a new employer requires you to undergo an extensive background check. Your landing document for example will be needed once you claim your pension.

    Calling CIC

Usually the "it's easier to work outside of Canada once I'm Canadian"-reasoning for urgent processing doesn't sit to well with CIC

Residency Calculator - Listing Absence from Canada

This is true. However, it doesn't hurt, either. (As long as it's straight to the point, of course). I included significantly more information in letter form, than the application asked for in both my PR and my RQ. I found this very effective to illustrate my case, if it differed from the answers...

Returning to Dubai after applying for citizenship

I can't blame people who would like to move back home, because they can't find adequate work in their field in Canada. These temp agencies-stories are very sad and disturbing. Unfortunately, without such system, there would be even less manufacturing around in this country. The only way to...

Travel Records/ Records of movement from Home Country for RQ. Please advise

Not every country can provide travel records. It really depends on the country in question, there is no rule of thumb. It's best to request those documents, while already submitting the RQ and other documents. Attach a letter stating that you are still waiting, and, if possible, some sort of...

I never ordered ATIP. But I called one week before they sent me an oath letter, and the call-centre claimed my RQ hadn't been assessed yet. One week later, they sent me the oath invitation.
