    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Sponsor Approval letter is dated September 10 and says "the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative will be processed at CPC-Mississauga." But relative lives in China. Has anyone else been told processing will be at Mississauga even though relative is not in Canada (and in this...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Hello, is it possible to verify that a medical was uploaded? MyCIC continues to say "We have requested a medical exam" despite it being done two weeks ago. In 5 days the 30 day time limit will be up so am worried about whether it was sent. Obviously it hasn't been reviewed for pass/fail yet...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

I think in China you should just wait a week first. That's what we did in our case. Only a few places would be locked down for more than a week or two. For my relative in Chongqing I'm more concerned about the doc scaring her with talk of seeing streaks on her lung scan. I think, though...

Hello, current status here is Sponsorship: Decision Made (made within last couple days), PR application: In Process ECAS says application received, June 25, 2019 and "started processing your application on November 25, 2020." Biometrics were requested July 20 and medical on July 26. My...

    2017 PGP Applicants

Let's be clear about something here: the people who aren't qualified but took up a lottery spot aren't taking a spot away from someone else who might otherwise have been selected. That's because the spot is going to go to clearing the backlog of 2016 and prior applicants. See the 2017...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2017

Apparently Canada could be destroyed if a visit visa person overstayed. Never mind that without a PR card the person wouldn't have access to any taxpayer funded benefits. Supposedly an older foreign woman with no Canadian credentials or any English or French would surely steal some Canadian's...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2017

The bureaucratic mentality at work here. No need to address the UNselected applicants by name, apparently. I actually find it highly irritating that I get a long letter about TRV options when we've already tried that route and this same ministry denied us that option. How hard would it have...

Child tax benefit outside of Canada?

This is not correct. If a Canadian mother takes a two month leave of absence from work and isn't living with her Canadian husband for those two months because she and the child are visiting grandma, it is not true that Canada Revenue will later coming knocking looking for a refund of those two...

TRV refused for my mother - Huge stress during pregnancy

Well of course I'm bitter. The question is whether I'm "just" bitter or have some genuinely well-founded criticisms. In January the Dept of Homeland Security reported a fiscal 2015 overstay rate of 0.9% versus 1.18% for Canada for all visitors (as an aside, for US visitors needing a visa, the...

TRV refused for my mother - Huge stress during pregnancy

If she's busy with her grandchild to a level equivalent to denying a hypothetical Canadian caregiver a job where would grandma find the time to work illegally? Wasn't it contended that the threat of working illegally was a prime reason for refusal? I would think claiming that the applicant...

TRV refused for my mother - Huge stress during pregnancy

They know a lot more about the million people who applied for a visa than about the other 30 million plus who entered the country and weren't required to apply for a visa. Criminal history is irrelevant to visa refusal when looked at strictly since one can be visa exempt yet still can't enter...

TRV refused for my mother - Huge stress during pregnancy

Believe me when I say I feel your pain because we're in the same situation and in Chinese culture it is imperative to have a family member carer for a month after birth. My mother-in-law got rejected anyway. One thing that particularly annoyed me was the visa application centre sending an...

    Rejection despite several strong ties

Are any of these various assets clearly in the name of the visa applicant? This, of course, is something that can be addressed over time. Generally a Schengen visa should be easier to get, and then a US visa, and then try again for Canadian. This depends somewhat on country of origin. One...

Chances of getting Visitor Visa with valid US Visa

A request for evidence of the US visa means you've fewer document requirements than those from your country without this, all else equal, so it helps but it only helps at the margin. My wife was refused a TRV when we were just dating for the unstated reason that there was a romantic interest...

Reapplying immediately after a TRV refusal

Why is the friend picking up the tab for your time in Canada? Friends usually limit themselves to providing free accommodation. Generally it's just romantic interests and family who would get their itinerary funded by a host individual, and when that situation is suspected you've got a...

    Advice need for TRV application

If you were born in HK and residing in HK don't you qualify for a PRC HKSAR passport? No Canadian visa required if you have a Hong Kong passport, google "Visa requirements for Chinese citizens of Hong Kong".

Visitor visa refused – Help for reapplying

The odds of getting a TRV are extremely low if one has a romantic interest, never mind a spouse, in Canada. It's considered an irresistible magnetic force such that it's very difficult to convince a visa officer you'll leave the person of interest before your visit visa expires. The visa...

Chinese national wants to transit in Vancouver

Generally no visa necessary if she - holds a valid US visa - is flying Air Canada, Air China, China Southern, or Cathay Pacific - arrived on a flight from the U.S. See "Determine your eligibility – China Transit Program": http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/ctp/eligibility.asp

my husband is on student Visa in canada & my TRV Refused twice. WHAT to DO??????

It's extremely rare to get a TRV when one has a spouse in Canada regardless of the country one is currently in (and one needs a TRV).

is it a successful approach to bring the mother for pregnancy reason

The problem I'd have from immigration's perspective is that if the support of the folks is needed, why give birth in Canada when nobody's there right now? I would think you'd want to wait until she's there and then she invites her folks. She can't get there at the last minute anyway.
