[Update] 2014 Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship Application

We should be able to check if the funds have been cashed out by CIC even if the method of payment used was not Credit card (CC) (e.g certified cheque/ bank draft). I was able to check on mine and the bank told me that the bank draft I submitted (received by CIC on Jan 3rd) has not been cashed...

My parents are in the middle east. They signed the documents on the 31st of December (already midnight overthere) and managed to send them with a friend who happened to just finished his vacation and in his way back. The signed documents arrived on the morning of Jan 2nd. I collected the...

I don't think you need to send another application in, and if you do you'll most probably miss the cut-off. I have made several small mistakes here and there myself due to the rush. Could they send our applications back and say submit again, possibly but quite frankly that would be very un...

I guess I should've clicked validate again and then save. Third mistake so far guys, I should stop reviewing my application its like a final exam done in a hurry. :o I hope the officer does not just use the bar code for my application and actually review the printout.

I didn't know that! Some of the forms I finished validating them then I checked for errors and if I found one I would correct it and save it. Would you say the barcodes won't registers those changes since its already validated? that would mean if you found any mistake on the form you are obliged...

sponsorship of parents and grandparents for Canadian Permanent Residence

You guys make a good point. I struggled with mailing addresses for a while in the forms, before I decided to use my dad's address (principal applicant) in the generic form and mine (the sponsor) in the application to sponsor form. I imagine CIC will contact me for the first step: determining...

Did you use an immigration consultant? You don't need to fill up the "Use of Representative" form if its just you and your mother filling and sending your own documents. Anyone thinks otherwise? I know I didn't send that form since I didn't use any help.

sponsorship of parents and grandparents for Canadian Permanent Residence

I think you should be fine since in all their information updates about the new PGP CIC said that they are looking for Notices of Assessment, but we won't know for sure until they release the new forms and document checklist on the 31st of Dec. If you call Canada Revenue Agency they should be...

The problem with the certified cheque Adel is that you might need original payment receipt form (IMM 5401) with it, which takes a long time to get. If you look at the spouse and common law partner sponsorship applications now which are a lot more up to date than the PGP, you can see in the...

sponsorship of parents and grandparents for Canadian Permanent Residence

I had the same questions. But they do mention credit cards as an acceptable method of payement. Which I think refers to paying online via credit card. CIC does mention that they'll start accepting fees for the PGP on the 2nd of January. So I think you should be able to pay using a credit card...

sponsorship of parents and grandparents for Canadian Permanent Residence

Is any of you guys planning to send along their parents official documents (marriage certificates or divorce certificates, Police certificate). I spoke to a consultant a while back and he mentioned I should send everything in the first step (qualifying sponsor), although now reading the CIC...

With regards to the Requirement for financial proof what's your thought guys/girls on the years to prove finances for. I can prove 2010,2011,2012 and 2013 too but I don't have my notice of assessment for 2013 yet like everyone else in Canada. I am thinking I'll send my Option C for 2010, 2011...

sponsorship of parents and grandparents for Canadian Permanent Residence

I just spoke to CIC help line and the confimed that I can't let my parents sign and scan forms. They wan't original signatures too. Very unfortunate now I only can wish there are less than 5000 parents/grandparents under visa's in Canada already who want to apply for the PGP.

sponsorship of parents and grandparents for Canadian Permanent Residence

Rob_Co I doubt you can do that. Do you have a reason to believe you can have your parents sign the applications forms, scan and email back to you and you then use a coloured print out for the application? This is a very key point because if the new forms will be posted after Jan 2nd only the...
