Yes, they send PR card separately for every one (adults I guess).

I landed on January 23 and during landing they took my work permit which was valid till February 2015. However, they said that if I want to travel to foreign country (except USA) before getting PR card, I need to apply for TRV which will allow me to reentry to Canada. So for your case, I beleive...

I think CIC is working very hard now-a-days. ;) I received my passport back in a week. We landed on Thursday night. We couldn't wait to land after we received our passport back. ;D Now just waiting for PR card.
