If it is possible for you to process another passport for her, please do so. When they request for your passport for visa, just post the old and the new passport together, they will put the visa on the new passport. I know someone who did it like that.

I believe if you try you can get all the documents they require. If the bank is saying they cannot give you the statements(which places a lot of question mark on them), get them to write cic that they could not, let the bank know that it is about your life.
