I read that the background and security checks include something called HIRV (Hazard, Impact, Risk and Vulnerability), which in some cases takes more than a year to clear out. They'd try to find dirty laundry anywhere in the world. Anything that could represent a risk for the conservative system...

It's been more than 8 months after I got the AIP. The call center agent just told me that CIC is still waiting for my security checks (In-Canada), and that I can't do anything about it but continue being patient... everything has a damn limit!

I understand, but in this case the river isn't flowing. And when that happens the water starts to rotten. Did you know that this Canadian immigration process is the slowest in the western world? Canada is a country of laws and regulations, and if we consider using those to defend ourselves...
