Hi all! Today I received the e-mail from the embassy, requesting the passports! I must land before October 30th so I guess this part of my journey is done :) I will keep you posted with what comes next. Best of luck to us all!

Yes she already has her Canadian Passport. But I would have to enroll the eldest in school and I think I cannot do that until our status in Canada is clear.

Katezinha, someone pointed out on another thread that this is a relatively short period of time, if you consider your whole life. I find that hard to accept, as I have to take each day as it comes and stay sane with two young kids and almost no help. I understand your frustration. In my case...

Really? When we applied it was something that needed to be filled in. My oldest daughter is a child from a previous marriage and I am pretty sure without that consent our file wouldn't have gone forward. In the notes we received they have checked that form was filled in and in our file.

Just the youngest one. At the embassy they said we are free to apply for a visitor visa but they cannot grant that the officer at Pearson will allow us to enter the country unless we demonstrate that we will leave Canada when our visa expires. :( And yes, I meant Ukraine.
