Received my OCI card today :) although BLS had requested spouse birth certificate they issued it without me sending it. Note : - Please keep checking status on OCI - India website. The status changed without even me sending the birth certificate. Saved me $120 for translating the Birth Certificate.

Congrats on your citizenship! Yes that's correct. there is also a BLS fee that has to be added. You have to make two drafts if your mailing in your application. I guess you can pay by debit if you drop in to BLS. I just called up BLS and they gave me the exact amount for two applications.

They requested additional document that is Birth Certificate as spouse is not of Indian Origin.

they are accepting translated copy with the original copt from a certified translator so that's good.

Got a request for spouse Birth Certificate from BLS application for OCI in process. They won't accept birth Certificate in French. Now have to get it translated. Such a hassle when spouse is not even applying for OCI.

you can do surrender of Indian passport and oci together after you receive your Canadian ppt.

April 8th Application submitted for 2 surrender ppt and 1 OCI (courier service) April 16 received cancelled ppt and certificates April 17 received original documents (oci application) OCI status currently - in process

Hi this is what I read on the check list - all photo copies have to be attested " this is a true copy of the original" sign and date - Indian ppt is copy and original. Canadian ppt is only copy -Originals are Citizenship Certificate and Landing Papers

Thanks! yes its better to get it done with. I believe you need to upload or take a copy of ppt that has been cancelled. Will they take care of that?

Finished my ceremony yesterday was worth the wait, was in Scarborough but worth the drive from Mississauga. Short clip was aired on CTV new yesterday. :) All the best those who are waiting.

I would suggest request your MP to make an inquiry, even call the call center. I did my test in Sept 2018 and DM in Oct 2018 and got the letter for Oath in Feb for March 6th ceremony. all the best!
