Received the paperwork in the mail yesterday. Will be landing on the 31st ! starting 2015 on the right foot :) and putting 2014 behind us. Thanks to everyone on this thread. It has made our experience a little better. So much better that on the gov site, there should be a link to this...

I found a good thread that explained how to bring goods with you in the landing process, but i had questions about wedding gifts. It says that wedding gifts qualify is the wedding took place 3 months prior or three months after the landing... but seriously.. unless you do an inland...

You're 100% right. It's almost as if people got together and tried to figure out the worst possible system and then they put it in place.

I believe you have to send it to Ottawa as soon as you get it. One paper copy in the mail and one scanned copy by e-mail is what I did to make sure they received it. I was even lucky enough to get a reply of my e-mail saying that they got it. The quebec gov is suppose to send a copy but after...

I agree with you 100%. There is no sense in this. My wife is in a similar situation. There has to be a political reason behind it. Something obscure that we are not aware of. It's as if they have not taken into consideration that with long waiting periods, they might just loose the Canadien...

I see a lot of people are getting frustrated at all this waiting period and the zero communication we get from immigration canada throughout the process. I am with you but let's cheer up. Once all this is over, it will be a good story to tell the grand kids ! :)

it took many many months to get the FBI clearance done, and this was done IN the USA... so either it will take just as long or it will be quicker if the FBI has an office in Japan..and they can get it all done from there. either way, congrats and good luck !
