Can we talk about condition 51? (Discussion)

I'm not following your point? Why would Condition 51 make any difference? Many couples are both working, and the Sponsor should be able to support their partner for the period of time until said partner can find a job. If not then this helps to take the burden off the Canadian taxpayer, as any...

Can we talk about condition 51? (Discussion)

Here's my take on Condition 51.. There have been some here saying it's unfair because the sponsored person can have it used against them if they find themselves in an abusive relationship once they're here in Canada etc etc.. My thoughts are if you come to Canada and it ends up your relationship...

That's great news about the job and PR card Maria! Congrats! For sure it's so nice to have all that stress and the roller coaster ride many of us were on over with. Actually I take that back a roller coaster ride would have been fun and exciting, going through the immigration process not so...

Well it was one year ago today that they received our package in the mail room.. It was such an anxious time back then with all the unknowns and wondering if we filled out and submitted everything right, not to mention the thought what if they lose everything etc. I can't believe everything went...

The one good thing about here compared to the west coast is property is way way cheaper. NB would be lots better for you as it's mostly English speaking here, but yeah I think if I was you I'd be researching places to live in Ontario or something, as that is the next closest province with...

I can relate as New Brunswick is somewhat the same in some ways, and is Canada's only official bi-lingual province (which slipped my radar when I first moved here doh!).. So for many jobs you need to be able to speak both languages. Coming from the west coast it's just really very different here...

Awe the dreaded mother in-law lol, hope she gives you guys some space :-\ How do you like Quebec is it hard to fit in there compared to home? I ask because as a lifelong Canadian Quebec seems much like it's own country within Canada, and then there's the language barrier too etc.

When my wife received her health card number it was backdated to the day she landed on June 15th, so I guess it's the same in Quebec which is cool. I guess without a car a fun idea would be when you do make the trip in, it could be like a planned day out in the city to see the sites and sounds...

Not sure about Quebec but here in New Brunswick it was easy peasy to get the SIN#. We went to the Service Canada place and showed the COPR and her passport etc and they issued it right there the same day. They don't issue a SIN card anymore you just get your number etc. Drivers licence was easy...

So is it safe to say that most all of the Sept 2014 people who have kept up with this thread and were regular or semi regular posters, have now received their IP,DM,COPR, or PR? I know there were people that put themselves on the spreadsheet and then you never heard from them again, but for all...

No stress and no sorry's needed 8) We were going to flagpole asap anyhow so it didn't matter if they only had given us a week or a year etc..
